Garage Door Services in Amerige Heights, Fullerton

Amerige Heights is a 293-acre master-planned district in west Fullerton, built from about 2000 on the former Hughes Aircraft site under a specific plan for roughly 1,250 homes in five neighborhoods, with parks, a school and a town center. It is bordered by Gilbert Street, Malvern Avenue, Pioneer Avenue and Bastanchury Road, near Fullerton Municipal Airport, and Robert C. Fisler School at 1350 Starbuck Street serves it. Housing is mostly single-family homes with attached garages, plus townhomes and apartments.

This is the opposite end of Fullerton's range from the historic core. Openings are standard sizes and doors are all roughly the same age, so failures tend to arrive in waves across the neighborhood. What fails first is usually the builder-grade opener, then rollers and springs as they reach their cycle rating, rather than the door itself. Fullerton is inland north Orange County, with hot summers and dry autumn Santa Ana winds that push grit into tracks and roller bearings, and heat and sun are hard on painted steel, wood panels and weatherseals. Heat does not change a spring's rating, though: torsion springs are rated in cycles, commonly around 10,000, roughly seven years at four openings a day.

Amerige Heights is association-governed, and architectural review typically covers door style, panel design, color and visible hardware. Get approval first, then order, because a door installed without approval can be required to come out at the owner's cost. Permits run through the City of Fullerton. Urgent Garage Doors answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a 30 to 60 minute response, carries common springs on the truck, and gives a written price before work begins. Residential openers installed since July 1 2019 must have battery backup under SB 969. We work under California license CSLB #1055150, classification C-61/D-28. Call (949) 529-7743.
