Garage Door Services in Sunny Hills, Fullerton

Sunny Hills is north Fullerton's established hillside estate neighborhood, ZIP 92835, with large lots, custom and traditional ranch homes and tree-lined streets, anchored by Sunny Hills High School at 1801 Lancer Way. Laguna Lake Park, entered from Hermosa Drive, with its stocked lake and equestrian center, sits nearby, and it is one of the most expensive parts of Fullerton.

Estate homes bring wide and often oversized openings, two- and three-car garages, and doors chosen as an architectural feature. Mid-century ranch homes often have wide single-panel or oversized two-car openings that no catalog size fits, so measuring at the property is the only honest way to quote. Long or sloping driveways make the opener work against gravity on every cycle, so a door out of balance shows it sooner. Wood doors gain and lose weight with moisture over the years, which throws them out of balance against springs sized for their original weight, and an out-of-balance door is a usual reason an opener burns out early, so balance is checked before the opener is blamed. One-piece tilt-up doors survive on some older homes and need clearance in front and different hardware from a sectional.

Fullerton is inland north Orange County, with hot summers and dry autumn Santa Ana winds that push grit into tracks and roller bearings, and heat and sun are hard on painted steel, wood panels and weatherseals. Heat does not change a spring's rating, though: torsion springs are rated in cycles, commonly around 10,000, roughly seven years at four openings a day. Permits run through the City of Fullerton. Urgent Garage Doors answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a 30 to 60 minute response, carries common springs on the truck, and gives a written price before work begins. Residential openers installed since July 1 2019 must have battery backup under SB 969. We work under California license CSLB #1055150, classification C-61/D-28. Call (949) 529-7743.
